TKTKTKTKTK Selected as Community-Based Organization
After a rigorous review process, Point Source Youth has selected TKTKTK as the lead Community-Based Organization to the implement the THAP-IN pilot. TKTK will receive $200,000 -- $50,000 for staffing and benefits and $150,000 for direct cash transfers to youth. TKTKT is a TKTK-based nonprofit providing TKTKTK. Their comprehensive model, which incorporates TKTKTK, makes them an ideal collaborator for the pilot. We will work together with TKTK and our youth consultants to devise a plan for distribution of the funds by February 2026.
What is Mecklenburg THAP-IN?
1.
THAP-IN is a pilot “Cash +” model in Mecklenburg County (Charlotte area). Each participant receives a one-time direct financial assistance payment, either all at once or in installments, according to their needs.
2.
The pilot aims to boost housing stability, food security, and financial empowerment by engaging an estimated 50 youth ages 18-24 who are at imminent risk of losing housing.
3.
The cash transfer is unconditional and immediate. Payment is delivered within 24-48 hours of housing plan approval or at the youth’s discretion (for multiple payments). In addition, participants receive up to 3 months of strengths-based supportive programming from the lead community partner.
