Selima (she/her) is an advocate for justice and equity for all individuals in our vulnerable and marginalized populations. Selima has been working with youth, families, and special populations for over 30 years; she has focused her work on helping Youth and youth-led families who are experiencing homelessness gain access to housing, mental/medical care, education, and employment as ways to encourage self-sufficiency and stability. (new paragraph) Selima passionately supports the needs of LGBTQ Youth and BIPOC communities who are experiencing homelessness, trauma, and mental illness through a trauma-informed lens. As a direct service advocate and program director she has provided program development, implementation, and evaluation for federal and state housing interventions such as Bridge Housing, Transitional, Rapid Re-housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing. Selima holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology from Temple University and obtained her Master of Social Work from Clark Atlanta University with a focus in Health/Mental Health and is a Licensed Master Social Worker. (new paragraph) Selima is heavily involved in community-driven initiatives and advocates and supports the development of resources for youth who are battling homelessness, mental illness, and social injustice in underserved communities around the country.
